AUD/USD: Aussie gives up yesterday’s gains

AUDUSD Movement

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, AUD strengthened 0.60% against the USD to close at 1.0423.

LME Copper prices rose 2.2% or $169.3/MT to $7764.8/ MT. Aluminium prices rose 2.2% or $40.5/MT to $1908.8/ MT.

In the Asian session, at GMT0300, the pair is trading at 1.0407, with the AUD trading 0.15% lower from yesterday’s close.

This morning, in Australia, export price index rose 1.0% (QoQ) in the second quarter of 2012, while the import price index rose 2.4% (QoQ) in the same quarter.

The pair is expected to find support at 1.0368, and a fall through could take it to the next support level of 1.0329. The pair is expected to find its first resistance at 1.0445, and a rise through could take it to the next resistance level of 1.0483.

The currency pair is trading between its 20 Hr and 50 Hr moving averages.
